More Speaking Out Memories

Robin Pollens, MS,CCC-SLP Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at Western Michigan University and Clinical Supervisor in the Aphasia Communication Enhancement Program shares this week's Speaking Out memory.

In 2007, the NAA provided awareness and advocacy materials. "Two ACE aphasia advocates were at the booth to talk to people and provide materials. You see me and Sandy Glista--and the guest conference speaker, Leora Cherney!"

"We attended the "Midwest Aphasia Conferences" with clients. The highlight for me was meeting with John Lyon. We had great conversations about focusing on life participation. I also remember an ACE clients’ wife commenting that it was so interesting to be in a room with so many other family members and to hear their ideas!"

Thank you for sharing your memory, Robin!
