Fall 2025

Coming in Q4: Organizational Vibrancy Featured in 2024−2026 Strategic Plan Updates

As we announced in the Summer 2025 edition of the newsletter, each quarter we will continue to highlight progress related to a different section of the 2024−2026 Strategic Plan. For the coming quarter we will showcase examples of ways NAAB is demonstrating progress in our Organizational Vibrancy goal.

Organizational Vibrancy Goal

NAAB will be a model of outstanding operational and managerial practices for an accrediting body.

The objectives for this goal are:

  • Governance – Ensure NAAB directors are equipped and prepared to effectively fulfill their responsibilities.
  • Finance – Continue to operate all financial and accounting functions in compliance with best practices for non-profit organizations to achieve a sustainable financial business model.
  • Operations – Refine aspects of operational and business processes to provide increasingly effective and efficient service delivery.

Stay Tuned on Progress to Date

We are excited to share with you our accomplishments addressing developments and improvements in these objective areas, and we invite you to stay tuned for highlights over the weeks and months ahead.

Site Visitor Nominations Open

Site Visitors

NAAB site visitors are a vital part of the accreditation process, serving as the eyes and ears of NAAB’s Board of Directors and contributing their time, expertise, and passion for excellence in architectural education.

Interested in applying? Visit our Volunteer with NAAB page for more information.

Unique Opportunity for Students

Earlier this summer, NAAB attended AIAS Grassroots to engage with AIAS members and to spotlight a unique and meaningful opportunity: serving as a student volunteer on NAAB accreditation site visit teams.

Recognizing the essential role of the student perspective, NAAB is one of the few professional accreditors that require student representation on site visit teams. Student site visitors bring fresh insight, lived experience, and a critical lens to accreditation reviews.

Now Accepting Nominations for Student Site Visitors

NAAB is seeking nominations for student volunteers to serve on accreditation visiting teams.

Student volunteers participate in site visits alongside practitioners, educators, and regulators, bringing a valuable perspective to the accreditation review process. This is a meaningful leadership opportunity for students to:

  • Represent the voice of students in shaping the future of architectural education
  • Deepen their understanding of architecture education and accreditation
  • Develop and demonstrate leadership skills

Additional information on benefits and requirements of volunteering as a site visitor is available here.

Accreditation Updates

Upcoming 2025 Trainings

As we approach the December 15th deadline for all accredited programs to submit an annual report, we would like to provide some helpful reminders.

The 2025 Annual Report template is now available.

Additionally, this year, reporting will take place through NAAB’s newly enhanced Accreditation Management System (AMS)—designed to improve usability and streamline the submission process.

Join NAAB for a live training session on the 2025 Annual Report Form and submission.

During the session, we will walk through the new Accreditation Management System together, review the Annual Report requirements, and take time to answer any questions you might have as you acclimate to the new Annual Report submission process.

Please select the most convenient day and time:
