Partner Spotlight:
Canberra Accord and the UIA
Signed in 2008, the Canberra Accord on Architectural Education is a multilateral agreement among nine organizations with established systems for the accreditation of architecture education programs. It is intended to facilitate the international mobility of graduates in architecture and the portability of education credentials among signatories, and contribute to improving architecture education through benchmarking. The NAAB, a founder-signatory of the Accord, has served as its secretariat since 2010.

George Henderson, the first chair of the Accord, recently attended meetings of the UIA Education Commission (EDUCOM) and the UNESCO-UIA Validation Council for Architectural Education (VCAE) on behalf of the Accord and provided this report on some of the front-line issues in global architecture education.
