Reminder Call for Public Comment: Proposed Revisions to 2020 Conditions & Procedures for Accreditation

Your voice is important. Please use this survey to add your feedback on the proposed changes. The survey will remain open until December 22, 2025.

Proposed Revisions to Conditions

NAAB continually adapts to changes in the architecture education landscape, and stakeholder input is vital to this process. The proposed updates respond to recent federal and state policy shifts—particularly those affecting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)—and are intended to ensure that the Conditions remain aligned with current legal and regulatory requirements while continuing to support high-quality architecture programs. We encourage you to review the proposed revisions and share your feedback before the comment period closes.

Proposed Revisions to Procedures

To improve and streamline the accreditation process, the Board of Directors reviewed program feedback and proposed updates to the policies on Corrections of Errors of Fact and Program Responses to the VTR, aiming to provide greater clarity and better support for programs.

Join Your Peers in NAAB’s New Online Communities!

Program directors, program faculty and staff, visiting team members, and visiting team chairs now have access to online communities on NAAB’s website. Each community provides its members with opportunities to share resources and tools, brainstorm a problem, ask for advice, and discuss issues tailored to the needs and perspectives of the membership.

If you are a director of a NAAB-accredited or candidate program, a member of the faculty or staff of an accredited or candidate program, or a member of NAAB’s pool of volunteer site visitors and you have not received an invitation, please reach out to us at accreditation@naab.org.

If you have received an invitation and have not yet participated in a discussion, please join your colleagues and help create a special resource for programs and evaluators.

Accreditation Reminders

Annual Report Deadline: December 15

The Annual Report deadline is fast approaching!

Only programs granted initial accreditation or continuing accreditation by NAAB are required to submit an Annual Report. Reports are to be submitted every year, including the year in which the Architecture Program Report (APR) is due. The purpose of the Annual Report is to update program records and provide information about each program’s continuing compliance with the Conditions for Accreditation during the program’s accreditation cycle. In addition, programs report key data that NAAB compiles, analyzes, and communicates to the public through NAAB publications.

Annual Reports are submitted through NAAB’s Accreditation Management System (AMS), which facilitates and streamlines both program reporting and volunteer review. Click here for information about the Annual Report and how to access the AMS.

As a reminder, programs that fail to submit the report by December 15 will be assessed a late fee of $100 per day until the report is submitted. Programs that fail to submit the Annual Report, after notice, will be placed on Administrative Probation.
