AGM: Guest Speaker announced and sponsor opportunities available

Dear NAABA Members, 

We’re thrilled to announce that one of Canada’s foremost analysts of the challenges and opportunities facing the country, Ken Coates, will be headlining the Annual General Meeting (AGM) presented by Bouchier. 

Ken is a Canadian historian focused on the history of the Canadian North and Aboriginal rights and Indigenous claims and has worked with Indigenous groups across the country and internationally. He has written extensively on Indigenous rights and economic development and is a leading commentator on Arctic affairs and northern development. 

As an author of many books and articles, Ken contributes extensively to debates on television, radio, newspaper and social media. He was previously Chair in Indigenous Governance Degree at Yukon University and the Canada Research Chair in Regional Innovation at Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Saskatchewan. Ken is a distinguished fellow with the Macdonald Laurier Institute. 

The AGM hosts NAABA members, associates and business colleagues for an evening to celebrate, support and connect. We’ll honour our region’s Indigenous business community and highlight the key successes from the past year. We'll announce the new Board of Directors members and share a spotlight with them. It will also be a time to connect and explore the NAABA's key goals for the upcoming year.

This year's AGM attendees will receive a printed Member Directory; a section in NAABA's Annual Report publication. To ensure your NAABA member business is included, please have membership dues paid and renewal documents submitted by August 31.

Please login to the Membership Portal through NAABA.ca to submit required documents before August 31. The payment and renewal submissions are required once/annually each year.

Two scholarship opportunities through Girls Inc and Finning

Finning has partnered with Girls Inc. to award two scholarships for 2024. These awards are open to all residents from RMWB.

• A $3500 scholarship will be awarded to a girl/young woman enrolled in or applying for post-secondary school STEM program.
• A second $3500 scholarship will be awarded to an Indigenous girl/young woman or someone with deep involvement in Indigenous communities enrolled in or applying for a post-secondary school STEM program.
