NAACP MEMBERSHIP DRIVE 10,000 NEW MEMBERS

Dear Laity, Pastors, and Clergy of the Second Episcopal District,

Members of the Second Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church are excited about the NAACP Membership Drive Initiative introduced to the District by the District and Conference Lay Organization Leadership by Rev. Kim Moss and President Matthew Douglas during the Planning Meeting/Summer Summit held in Greensboro, North Carolina, Monday, July 11 through Thursday, July 14, 2022.

Bishop James L. Davis tasked the Laity Leadership for the District and Conferences to lead the District to enroll 10,000 NEW NAACP MEMBERS BY OCTOBER 2022. Every member of the District is asked to participate -- Presiding Elders, Pastors, Clergy, Component Leaders, Laity, Young Adults, and Youth. Your support is needed no matter what level you represent in our Great Zion!

Each presiding elder is asked to encourage active engagement and participation from all pastors in their districts. Pastors are asked to establish opportunities at least two Sundays of each month through October 2022 for actual enrollment. All church leaders should seek to enroll memberships from all their component organizations. And at the core of the initiative lies the local laity membership, who are asked to be the church's foot soldiers by enrolling family members, neighbors, co-workers, and other social affiliates as members of the NAACP.

We know . . . this mission is possible! As a District, the Second has already shown that we operate under the dictates of our brother Paul, who wrote to Philippi . . . (we) can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Philippians 4:13 NKJV.

If you have any questions about the initiative, don't hesitate to contact your Conference Lay President, who is serving as the Conference Coordinator for this initiative.

In Faith,

Rev. Kim E. Moss

Bro. Matthew C. Douglas
