NAACP New Orleans Branch to Commemorate Freedom Fighters - Victims of New Orleans 1866 Massacre

NAACP - New Orleans Branch will commemorate the fighters for freedom and political leaders who were killed and wounded 155 years ago on Friday, July 30, 1866 - the date of the New Orleans Massacre. The public is invited.
Date: Friday, July 30, 2021.
Time: 11:00 a.m.
Location: at the corner where Common Street meets what is now Roosevelt Place and O’Keefe, the former site of the Mechanics Institute.
The New Orleans Branch will officially call on leaders in the City of New Orleans and State of Louisiana to memorialize the site with a permanent marker that both commemorates the courageous political leaders of the time and that serves to educate the public relative to the political and social significance of the deadly terrorist attack.

Friday, July 30, 11:00 am, rally at the site of the former Mechanics Institute, the site of the tragic New Orleans Massacre. Corner of Common Street, where it meets Roosevelt and O’Keefe. Central Business District. Rally to commemorate the freedom fighters victimized by terrorists.
Saturday, July 31. The NAACP - New Orleans Branch - will be hosting a Bus Ride to the Buffalo Soldiers Museum in Houston Texas. The bus will leave New Orleans at 4:00am and return on the same day. The cost is $35 per person which includes the bus ride and the admission into the museum. All interested persons, please contact Linda Paisant at 504-434-8965.
