Congratulations to the following NAAE members who have been selected to attend the 2024 NAAE National Agriscience Teacher Ambassador Academy (NATAA). The Academy serves to train agriculture teachers on how to enhance the science that is already present in agriculture, as well as develop students as problem solvers and thinkers through the inquiry-based teaching method. State of Distinction Highlight - Oklahoma Agriculture Education Teachers Association

In 2023, the NAAE Professional State Award application was updated to showcase how state associations are working to serve their membership through advocacy in agricultural education, member experience, professional development and teacher recruitment, retention, and recognition. This month, we would like to highlight the Oklahoma Agriculture Education Teachers Association (OAETA) as the recipient of the 2023 NAAE State of Distinction Award in Professional Development.

The Oklahoma Agriculture Education Teachers Association worked to provide educators with opportunities to advance through quality professional development through their Teachers Teaching Teachers Professional Development Conference. This event was a collaborative effort between the professional membership committee and the State Teach Ag Results committee or STAR committee. The event welcomed 62 OAETA member and 10 OAETA content area specialists. The professional development allowed for six professional development workshops presented by teachers and 6 industry tours.

Congratulations to the OAETA on the planning and execution of a very successful event.

Applications for National #TeachAg Day Celebration Kits Now Open

Our 2023 NAAE #TeachAg Day Celebration Kits for teachers and stakeholders.

This year’s National #TeachAg Day will focus on the premiere of our very first short documentary! This film will follow the journey of students and teachers as they complete their student teaching experience and figure out what comes next. What a great way to give your students a peek into what it’s really like to become an agricultural educator. The film premieres on YouTube on National #TeachAg Day at 1:30 p.m. eastern.

We’re bringing back our popular National #TeachAg Day Celebration Kits, with versions for both teachers and stakeholders. The teacher kit will include fun ways to explore the profession of teaching agriculture, including a brand-new Lesson Plan-In-a-Box that will challenge your students to consider a career in teaching agriculture. The kit for stakeholders will focus on collegiate ag ed programs, state ag teachers’ associations, and #TeachAg supporters and will help you host your own documentary premiere party. Quantities are limited.

Celebration kits will allow programs to celebrate the profession of teaching agriculture in style and encourage others to enter the profession of teaching agriculture. Recipients of celebration kits will be notified mid-August with celebration kits mailed out in September.

Visit the application for a complete list of requirements for all NAAE National #TeachAg Day Celebration Kit Recipients.

My Local Cooperative - Take a Virtual Tour of a Cooperative

Let's take a tour! Whether an agricultural cooperative’s members deal in grain, dairy, fruits, or any other ag product, the goal is the same. To pool resources and combine product to have a better market share. Similarly, you will find many of the same careers within agricultural cooperatives, no matter what product they focus on.
