Why Medicare Supps?

Presented by

Gary Owen

The presentation centers on the advantages of Medicare Supplement (Med Supp) plans, with a specific focus on United American/Globe Life. It compares Med Supp with Medicare Advantage (MAPD), outlining the key differences and helping agents position Med Supps more effectively. Attendees will explore various Medigap plan types, including the high-deductible “HDG” Plan, and understand its long-term value proposition. The session also covers critical enrollment nuances, such as Trial Right periods, and emphasizes the importance of educating clients on the Medical Loss Ratio. Rather than leading with price, the training encourages selling through rate stability to build lasting client relationships. Lastly, agents will learn cross-selling techniques that align naturally with the HDG offering to increase value and retention.

Do you know about the NABIP PAC?

NABIP PAC is the political action committee of NABIP. It is the expression of our First Amendment rights to free speech and association guaranteed under the Constitution. Such political expression has become far more than a useful option for professionals in a heavily regulated business like the health insurance industry. It has become a necessity.

NABIP PAC is registered with the Federal Election Commission. Since NABIP and similar organizations are prohibited from making political contributions, NABIP PAC was created to allow contributors to combine their financial support to a candidate to achieve maximum effect.

NABIP PAC's Mission:

The purpose of the NABIP's Political Action Committee (NABIP PAC) is to raise funds from NABIP members for the purpose of supporting the political campaigns of candidates who believe in private sector solutions for the health and financial security of all Americans.

Non NABIP members can only contribute to the Administrative Fund. For further information please contact Michael Schlossberg at Michael4ins@aol.com

Earning the Registered Employee Benefits Consultant® (REBC®) designation elevates your credibility as a professional. The field of employee benefits continues to evolve rapidly. A year does not go by without new government regulations, new or modified coverages, and new techniques for controlling benefit costs. To best serve their clients, professionals need to have a current understanding of the provisions, advantages, and limitations associated with each type of benefit or program as a method for meeting economic security. The designation program analyzes group benefits with respect to the ACA environment, contract provisions, marketing, underwriting, rate making, plan design, cost containment, and alternative funding methods. The largest portion of this program is devoted to group medical expense plans that are a major concern to employers, as well as to employees. The remainder of course requirements include electives on topics serving various markets based on a broker’s client needs.
