In response to concerns raised by our member colleges regarding the language requirements for the NACC’s PSW 2022 in-person, PSW DE 2022, HSW, and PSW Bridging programs, with MCU’s approval, NACC will grant a 6 month grace period until October 21, 2023, to accept admissions based on the 2015 program language, as per NACC Policy Manual, section I-4.2.1 English Language Proficiency, listed below:
- NACC Technical Literacy Exam (passing score of 18) (refer to Section II-2 – Technical Literacy Exam of the PSW 2015 program).
OR
- IELTS – International English Language Testing Services – Minimum average score of 6.0 with no subject test score lower than 5.5.
OR
- TOEFL –Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet based test (IBT) – over 80, with the minimum of each component: Reading 20; Listening 20; Speaking 20; Writing 20.
If your college did not have the 2015 PSW program, please contact our office to obtain the policy and test to be included in your learning materials.
We are reviewing with our members to determine the appropriate language requirements, while maintaining the high standard of our programs and will provide further information on this in due course. We will be surveying members in the days to come on the options that you think best meet your requirements and needs but you can expect that we will be strengthening these requirements for implementation on October 22, 2023.
Thank you for your ongoing support of NACC and our work.
