Update from President Champion
I love to quote movies! The Godfather has many memorable quotes likes, “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.” In The Cowboys, John Wayne is getting ready to leave on a cattle drive and his wife says she’ll think about him before she goes to bed at night. He replies, “You do and you won’t sleep!” And then, right before a battle in Gladiator, Maximus says, “What we do in life, echoes in eternity.” I thought about this quote from Maximus as we stare down a new year. Start your year with a broader perspective on things that are important: Doing your job to the best of your ability, treating those who cross your path with humility and respect, and recognizing success in county government is a team effort. Live a life that will echo in eternity.

InQuik Bridge System - Innovation for Infrastructure

The webinar will be held at 2:00pm EST on Thursday, February 16. Please sign up for the webinar here.

Following registration, you will receive an email with a Zoom Meeting link on the morning of the webinar. Please do not forget to register. This webinar is free to all NACE members, and we hope you will join us.

The award-winning InQuik Bridge System is a reinforced concrete bridge; however, it is vastly different from typical bridge construction since it’s the only Cast-In-Place ABC Solution.

In this technical session, the InQuik President & Co-Inventor, Logan Mullaney will introduce the innovative system that uses pre-engineered and prefabricated modular components with the reinforcement and formwork, however no concrete. The lightweight components are transported to site, easily lifted into position, connected by local labor and then concrete is placed onsite without propping since the components are self-supporting.

The revolutionary InQuik system has been used in 170+ projects and in this session, they will discuss several case studies, including flood/fire recovery, research programs undertaken by Universities and the AASHTO Verification process.

The current Federal funding programs for bridges may further affect the sector with more labor shortages, supply chain issues and increased inflation, so InQuik will share a variety of lessons learned from similar funding programs and how to navigate the challenges of delivering infrastructure projects.
