Update from South-Central Region Vice-President Pam Dingman, P.E.

This summer has been a hot one, there is nothing like the feeling of your pants bonding with your skin as you stand in the sun on a hot asphalt slab. Nebraska had very little rain fall this spring and early summer which enabled Lancaster County to finish our 2-mile new pavement project in May. It was fun to take the time to celebrate this with the team before we moved on to the next project.

In addition, we were able to open our first tub girder bridge this spring. This new method of bridge construction dramatically reduces the time of traditional bridge construction. This bridge was awarded a Nebraska County Bridge Match Program Grant for innovation. I was happy the Nebraska Legislature passed a bill to extend and fund the County Bridge Match Program to 2028, if you are interested in how the program works, please contact me.

ExeVision:

Enhancing County Project Management with e-Construction Solutions

Let’s talk about overcoming barriers and boosting efficiencies with e-Construction Solutions. It is crucial for every county transportation agency to prioritize the adoption of online project management and documentation into their operations. By abandoning traditional manual methods such as paper field books and spreadsheets, agencies of any size, budget, or internal technology expertise can now smoothly transition their road construction project documentation to an online platform.

What are some advantages of e-Construction Implementation? Implementing an e-Construction solution provides numerous advantages for counties. First and foremost, it eliminates the need for duplicating data entry efforts, significantly reducing the likelihood of transcription errors. This streamlined process saves time and minimizes the potential for inaccuracies. Additionally, for agencies dealing with multiple project stakeholders and approval processes, our cloud-based solution offers real-time access to project information from anywhere. This accessibility facilitates online approvals and enables on-demand reporting. If your goal is to streamline manual processes and reduce paperwork, adopting an e-Construction project documentation solution is a powerful strategy that enhances process efficiency and boosts productivity for your entire team.
