Virtual New County Board Member Orientation

Registration is now open for the Virtual New County Board Member Orientation.

Newly elected and appointed county board members have two available dates to choose from Saturday January 9th, 2021 and Saturday January 16th, 2021.

A county board handbook will be mailed to all attendees prior to the orientation.

2021 Scholarship Opportunity

Applications are being accepted for twelve $1,000 scholarships that will be awarded to seniors graduating from Nebraska high schools. Children, stepchildren, and children under the legal guardianship of Nebraska county officials and employees are eligible. Recipients must further their education within the state of Nebraska. A special award, the Ronda Dix Memorial Scholarship, may be presented to an applicant planning a career in nursing. Additional information and the application form can be found here. The scholarship application deadline is March 1, 2021.

NACo Leadership Academy Graduates

14 Nebraska County staff members participated in the NACo Leadership Academy, a 12-week online program that empowers front-long county government employees with fundamental leadership skills. Across the country, nearly 3,000 county employees participated.
