Commissioner Larry Johnson engaged in an arm chair discussion with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to discuss the roles and power of counties in advocating for bipartisan COVID-19 relief funding at the 2021 NACo Annual Conference in Prince George’s County, Md.

"It was an honor to sit with Speaker Pelosi at the 2021 NACo Annual Conference" said Commissioner Johnson. "We share similar passion for helping residents get the assistance they need to relive them of some of the burdens that the COVID-19 pandemic brought."

Pelosi sat down with NACo First Vice President Larry Johnson for a Q&A and thanked county officials for their work getting local communities through the COVID-19 pandemic and for their advocacy for the rescue packages.
