Message From Your Chair

Greetings Relatives,

We are excited to move forward into the fall season - a time of culmination, harvest and celebration with families at Native fairs and parades.

The Caucus continues to grow and reach Native members across New Mexico. We are so grateful if you have joined the Native American Democratic Caucus of New Mexico. Now more than ever, adding meaning and purpose to our lives is essential. We are a strong caucus rooted in democratic values, dedication, and love. Our commitment to our tribal communities shines through the heart work of our general meetings, outreach events, and partnerships.

We cannot do this work without you, and we hope you will join us at our next outreach event! Be sure to check out our upcoming Outreach Calendar for opportunities to attend and support.

With gratitude and solidarity,

Jana Pfeiffer, Diné

October Business Meeting

Update on Next Business Meeting: October 9, 2025

The Leadership Team of the Native American Democratic Caucus of New Mexico has been working diligently to review concerns raised regarding the April 8 selection of the 14 Native American State Central Committee members. After thoughtful discussion and engagement with SCC members, we are pleased to share that a new solution has been developed. This solution will strengthen our process and move the SCC forward with clarity and unity.

We will be discussing this important solution at our next Business Meeting on Thursday, October 9, 2025. This is an important meeting to attend, and we encourage all members to join us as we move forward together.

Thank you for your continued patience, trust, and commitment to our Caucus. Please reach out to the Leadership Team with any questions.

No Kings Albuquerque - October 18

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings.

Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.

"If Democrats Want a Revival, Start with Indian Country"

My View; Written by Joaquin R. Gallegos:

Joaquin R. Gallegos (Jicarilla Apache Nation–Pueblo of Santa Ana) challenges the Democratic Party to reckon with its obligations to Indian Country. In this thought-provoking piece, he argues that Native voices and leadership are not just political assets but essential to the future of U.S. democracy.
