Exclusive NAEA Opportunity!

Due to the finalization of timing of this SPECIAL tour of the St. Louis Arch, registration is being completed through this Google Form. This SPECIAL tour will take place on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 - 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

We have a NAEA exclusive opportunity to see and learn all about St Louis’ landmark, the Arch. Join us at 8 AM in the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel lobby to walk to the Arch. From there we will meet with the National Park District before the Arch opens for the day. We will then travel up to the top of the Arch. (Tickets are very hard to come by if you do not pre-order.) After our trip up, the Arch educational staff have developed programming for us that will give you insight into the Arch, the museum, and all the FREE virtual educational offerings provided by the National Park District. We end at 11:00 am and then will provide lunch in the Arch Cafe.

This event was extremely popular last year! Don't miss it in 2022!

Creating Post-Graduation Pathways for Our Students

“The best thing that our alternative schools do is to introduce students to post high-school pathways,” says Kristina Yamada, executive director of the National Alternative Education Association.

Partnership for Backpacks and School Supplies

Recently, the Avondale campus of ThrivePoint High School partnered with the Eyes Like Mine Foundation to give backpacks and school supplies to students and families in the neighboring community. The Avondale campus has a population of students whose families life at or below the poverty line, so to be able to partner with Bathsheba Adams & Cyndy Joseph (co-chairs of Eyes Like Mine) was an incredible opportunity! Over 70 total students and their families have received backpacks and school supplies through this partnership. Donations also go a local elementary school district. ThrivePoint - Avondale, an alternative high school, has developed the working relationship with the elementary school through the local chamber of commerce.

The Avondale campus and the Eyes Like Mine Foundation will continue their partnership going forward. They are currently working out the planning and details for a sneaker drive in the month of October benefiting the same community families receiving backpack and supplies this time around.
