NAMI Marion County was pleased to participate in the World's Greatest Baby Shower that had over 300 participants, including 121 mothers, 190 children, family, friends and even husbands!
Pizza! The Connection Recovery Group periodically has a pizza party prior to the support group meeting . Breaking bread together strengthens bonds. There were lots of smiles at our February party
W e were invited to The Centers Annual Meeting. We were blown away by how well they are doing this year and their new initiatives.

Monthly Lunch & Learn Workshops!
The first monthly Lunch & Learn Workshop was held on January 31. Attendees learned all about Florida Wraparound 101 as presented by LSF (Lutheran Services of Florida). Please join us on February 21st as we discuss Bridges of Hope.
Adult Mental Health First Aid Class - Free!

We are so excited to be able to partner with Meridian Behavioral Health Services to offer this very important program. This 8-hour class will help people learn how to help a person who may be experiencing a mental health-related crisis or problem.

How Happy Are You?
Free Happiness Assessments Free!

Thanks to the United Way of Marion County we have been funded to provide mental health screenings in the outlying areas of Marion County where it is difficult to access mental health services. In partnership with Meridian Behavioral Health Services , we can also provide immediate counseling for people who need additional assistance.

If your church or community organization would like to host these "Happiness Assessments," please contact Gerry Brent.
Family-to-Family Program
now scheduled.
NAMI Family-to-Family  is a free, education program for  family of adults living with mental illness. In this 12-week program ,  the term  family  is viewed from a broad perspective to include parents, siblings, spouses, adult sons and daughters, partners and significant others. Learn why situations occur and how you can help with recovery.

NAMI FaithNet - Calling all churches & faith-based organizations
NAMI FaithNet strives to encourage welcoming, caring congregations as well as to promote the vital role of spirituality in the recovery journeys of many who live with mental health conditions, those for whom faith is a key component.

In February, we are presenting the Bridges of Hope. The purpose of Bridges of Hope is to educate faith communities about mental illness so that they can create stronger safety nets and welcoming communities of faith for people affected by mental illness.

NAMI Homefront is a free, online six-session class for NAMI members who are family, friends and significant others of Military Service Members and Veterans.

  *All participants are screened to ensure this class is appropriate for their needs.
