Dear NAMIC Diversity Digest Readers,

Thank you to all who were able to join us during the 32nd Annual NAMIC Conference. The discussions were dynamic, the speakers were inspiring, the content was thought provoking, the energy was buzzing, and we introduced our new president & CEO A. Shuanise Washington! As one attendee put it..."Lots of opportunity to hear different points of view from executives. Definitely a great learning and networking opportunity."

NAMIC looks forward to keeping these discussions about cultural diversity alive and maintaining the buzz through our chapter programming, social media (follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn @NAMICnational).  Check out the latest conference blog and send us your posts to  info@namic.com .

The conference began with a soft launch on Monday (left to right) as NAMIC-New York taught best practices during the Chapter Leadership Workshop and concluded with the ELDP/Leadership Seminar reception where each class had a chance to reunite.

Tuesday started off with an introduction of NAMIC's new president & CEO A. Shuanise Washington (top row left to right) who spoke about ushering in a new era of unprecedented achievement and service to our industry. Immediately following was  the Cablefax Breakfast discussion on The Future is Now; and then onto breakout sessions like Creating Diverse Stories That Slay. The conversations continued (middle row left to right) with the packed Unconscious Bias session and  Career Coaching. Finally, (bottom row left to right) standing ovations for keynotes from Don Lemon on the role of journalists now and John Kobara on mentorship, passion and authenticity. REVOLT CEO Roma Khanna candidly shared her journey to the C-Suite, completing an inspirational and thought-provoking day.

Wednesday continued the dynamic discussions (left to right) as the Customer Loyalty Wars panel raised the intriguing prospect that some customers are threatening to cut the cord - are they worth the trouble? The conference wrapped with  recognition to NAMIC superheroes who advocate for diversity in their careers and daily lives.  From Chapter Leaders to Start Up Entrepreneurs to Next Generation Leaders and Luminaries, the room was overflowing with powerful leaders!
