Black Enterprise
Serena Williams recently joined Austin-based startup Bumble Fund to set her sights on investing in female founders of color. In addition to investing, Williams will also serve as a global adviser to Bumble according to a recent press release.
Variety
Given the breakout success of "Get Out," it's no surprise audiences were salivating to see the next nightmare from the mind of writer-director Jordan Peele.

Deadline
With so much talk about diversity, inclusion, and representation in Hollywood, it seems that there's a lot of lip service but not many TV studios aren't taking much action, and if they do, it's not fully realized and lacks authenticity.

BBC News
Disney is now the official owner of Rupert Murdoch's former entertainment empire, 21st Century Fox. The mammoth $71bn deal - completed on Wednesday - brings the likes of X-Men, The Simpsons and Fantastic Four characters to Disney's already impressive film catalogue which includes Star Wars and Cinderella.

Ending a nearly eight-month standoff, Dish Network and Univision Communications signed a new long-term carriage deal. The companies said restoration of Univision networks and stations on DishLatino and Dish will begin immediately and all pending litigation has been settled.

The untitled series, which is created by Kaling and Lang Fisher, is about the complicated life of a modern-day first-generation Indian American teenaged girl, inspired by Kaling's childhood. Howard Klein and David Miner will executive produce with Kaling and Fisher.
