Capturing Contemporary Interprofessional Telehealth Resources!
NAP’s Telehealth Resources Work Group is hard at work in compiling data, information, and resource materials in preparation for developing Telehealth Advocacy activities. Medicare defines telehealth, or sometimes referred to as Telemedicine, as the use of telecommunications technology to provide health care services to persons who are at some distance from the provider(s). As a part of this Work Groups’ effort, we are exploring ways in which interprofessional telehealth is being provided in communities and geographic regions where access to the internet and technology are limited or unavailable. Any information which also provides measurable outcome data in this area is extremely valuable. In addition, the Work Group seeks to learn more about how interprofessional telehealth is being taught within health professional higher education and resultant learning and patient outcomes achieved based on an interprofessional teaching and learning approaches used for telehealth.
To that end, NAP members are an exceptional group of individuals who are leaders in interprofessional education and interprofessional practice and who are at the forefront leading across many areas of interprofessional care and learning. We are reaching out to all of you to assist us in this effort. If you are currently using an interprofessional model of teaching telehealth or providing interprofessional telehealth care in technology inaccessible areas as well as accessible areas, then we would like to hear from you! We would be grateful if you would share resource information, publications, presentations, model or demonstration programs, funded initiatives, etc where you and your colleagues are involved and where available, have defined and/or measurable outcomes to assist us in compiling contemporary resource information on this topic.
Please email your meaningful resources to Jody Frost, NAP President at jodygandy@comcast.net by November 12, 2020, which will be shared with NAP’s Telehealth Resources Work Group.

NASEM Planning Committee Seeks your Educational Experiences in a Time of COVID
COVID-19 has disrupted health professional education (HPE). It has forced classrooms, the clinical learning environment, and community education to be reimagined. The pandemic has also brought to light societal challenges such as structural racism and has raised questions about the evidence behind maintaining the status quo in HPE after the pandemic passes.
Thank you for you input as NASEM re-imagines health professional education post-COVID.
