ACTION IN THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING WORLD

As we know, our community has been very generous funding affordable housing initiaves in the past few years.  For anyone who was unable to attend the State of Housing Workshop a few weeks ago - here is a link to the presentation which provides a comprehensive outline of progress and planning.

STATE OF HOUSING PRESENTATION

COVENANT UPDATES

There are funds available to help create covenant properties:

The Covenant Formation Assistance Program (CFAP Application) is a Town program to assist with funding for owners who are creating a covenant lot. No interest loans, for up to $10,000, are available to help owners with the associated costs of creating the covenant property including surveying, legal, septic work and permitting. The loan gets paid back when the covenant property sells.

And, there are funds to help buyers close on a covenant property.

Please contact Housing Nantucket for info.

It is possible to create a covenant property within the same family EVEN IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE ASSET AND INCOME REQUIREMENTS. This is a very powerful tool to enable people to remain in their homes as they age and to be able to help the next generation.

Please contact Housing Nantucket for more specific information.
