NASCAR x SAE SoCal Race Day!

NASCAR invites all Formula SAE Internal Combustion, Formula SAE Electric, and Baja SAE teams within SAE SoCal to compete for an opportunity to race on the NASCAR-built quarter mile track inside of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Thursday, February 1st, just days before the NASCAR Cup Series drivers take the track to kick off the 2024 season at the Busch Light Clash.

COMPETITION DETAILS

• All interested programs will compete in a ticket selling competition, utilizing a unique ticket selling link to promote the sale of $40 student tickets for the general admission Torch Party Porch section at the Busch Light Clash on Sunday, February 4th

• Reach out to Tori Burke (vburke@nascar.com) at NASCAR if interested in participating to receive a unique ticket selling link and other information to get started!

• The two organizations within each vehicle class (FSAE IC, FSAE EV, Baja) that sell the most tickets before January 19, 2024, will be the two selected to race against each other in a time-trial competition. Competition / race format details to follow. 

• Note that all organizations will need to have a faculty advisor present at the time-trial competition and will be required to pass SAE technical inspection before racing.

• Note that there will only be one opening in the Formula SAE Internal Combustion class, as one spot will be allotted to last year's reigning champion, USC Racing.
