WQED VISITS INGOMAR ELEMENTARY

Gwen Anderson and WQED Pittsburgh’s Design Lives Here program visited Ingomar Elementary this week! During their visit, WQED observed a 5th-grade STEAM Encore rotation led by IES librarian Mrs. Lynn Smokovich. The students engaged in critical thinking as they tackled the WQED Design Squad’s Touchdown Challenge, where they were required to construct a shock-absorbing system to safeguard two astronauts from a crash landing on the moon. The visit by Gwen Anderson and WQED is the first of several to each of NASD's elementary schools. This is North Allegheny's second year working with the WQED Design Squad program.
