A WORD FROM NASIMCO:
At NASIMCO, we have taken measures to address safety, while continuing business operations. As of Monday, March 23, 2020, the NASIMCO office will be closed for 2 weeks (at least) to help mitigate the risk of spreading the virus in accordance with current government recommendations.
All NASIMCO staff are equipped with the tools and technology they need to continue providing our member jamaats with continued support even while working from home, and we are confident that support will continue uninterrupted.
If you need to reach out to NASIMCO offices directly, you may do so between 8:30am – 3:30pm M-F. A new phone number will be released to all by this weekend.
During this difficult time we are committed to putting all our efforts to support our member jamaats and be here for you. Please take some time to click on the link below for a message from our President and read through the entire email for vital information regarding the COVID-19.
May Allah protect our communities and everyone around us, and accept all our efforts during these times, Ameen.
Please see the following reference link which describe actions being taken by the government and recommendations for employers:
The Senate & The House of Representatives passed the legislation today, March 18th 2020, approving an economic assistance package to help support businesses and workers who have been harmed by the virus as an ongoing action to curb the spread of the COVID19.
The Federal House of Representatives passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, an economic stimulus plan that includes many provisions which apply to employers, such as paid sick leave for employees impacted by COVID-19 who work for employers with more than 50 employees. It is being presented to the Senate, and will likely be signed into law soon, subject to amendment:
Many cities, states and health departments have also issued guidelines and some closure orders; review orders carefully to determine whether they apply to you. We are staying diligent as well, as best as we can given the speed and number of guidelines being issued across the nation.
NASIMCO strongly recommends the closure of all member jamaat centers & private functions of more than 10 people, until further notice.
Resources for Individuals and Communities in Canada
Social distancing measures are a way to minimize COVID-19 transmission in the community. This means minimizing close contact with others during the peak of an outbreak. In addition to staying home when ill, we should plan for actions we can take if we need to reduce the spread of infection in places where we gather.
In an interconnected global economy, the new coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) is affecting Canadian businesses and their operations. It has resulted in restrictions on travel and public gatherings, as well as supply chain disruptions and market uncertainty.
The Government of Canada is committed to providing you with the information and support you need to make informed decisions as your business navigates through these challenges.
