On April 20, 2024, alongside the World Federation, ICAIR and ISIJ, NASIMCO hosted the Inaugural ICAIR Conference, bringing together scholars, academics, Shuyukh and Aalims from across the globe to the ISIJ of Toronto. This two day conference was attended by hundreds, featuring panels, question and answer sessions, and special key note lectures.

The Opening Ceremony featured a welcome address by NASIMCO Hon. Secretary MohamedArif Jagani

Special thanks to all staff, volunteers, and the ICAIR Conference Planning Committee, on whom NASIMCO was represented by Sr. Fatma Khakoo.

MicroTeach 4 was conducted in January for 7 teachers from Al Qaaim and Al Hadi Madrasahs on the 21st and 28th of the month. This cohort underwent their Teacher Skills Program training in February of 2023.

MicroTeach 5 took place virtually on March 3rd for the October 2022 cohort. Four Facilitators from the Africa Federation Team; Br. Hameed Sheriff, Sr. Zishaan e Fatema Karim, Br. Nishathusein Karim and Sr. Sabira Sadak led this, shadowed by Br. Khalil Champsi of NASIMCO Team. 17 teachers participated in the final Microteach that completed their Teacher Skills Training.

A new cohort of 11 teachers from Al Qaaim and Al Hadi Madrasahs received the Teacher Skills Program training from March 9th to March 10th, facilitated by Sr. Shehnaaz Somji, Sr. Muhaddisa Allarakhia, Sr. Sabira Manji – Janmohamed and Sr. Faseeha Jamaal. This was followed by MicroTeach 1 on March 16th, wherein 9 teachers participated.

On Saturday, April 27, NASIMCO, ISIJ and North American Shia Matchmaking held a Shia Matchmaking Event at the ISIJ of Toronto. Dozens of participants from across North America participated. The event was attended by NASIMCO CAO, Sr. Shifa Abbas and ISIJ Chairlady, Sr. Zehra Dilawar, pictured above with the Event's founder and lead Sr. Kulsum Dharamshi.

NASIMCO is looking forward to our 2024 NASIMCO Annual Conference this month. The Conference will be hosted by our brothers and sisters of the Al Kawthar Islamic Association in their new facilities in Surrey, BC. This event will be preceded by a fundraising gala for Al Kawthar Islamic Foundation, and an official Opening Ceremony for their new centre on the following day. We look forward to convening and networking with all of our member jamaat attendees once again.

This past Ramadan, NASIMCO launched its annual Ramadan Relief campaign, providing aid to Zanzibar, Togo, Tanzania, Burkina Faso and Kenya, as well as Pakistan, India, Lebanon. and Iraq.
