02/12/24, 9am-12pm

Virtual

I HATE writing notes.. and you know you do too! We went to school to be clinicians, NOT authors!! And while in school, we learned all about clinical theories, diagnosis, interventions, etc., but clinical documentation was not part of any of our programs. Now here we are, most of us in private practice, writing notes the way we think they should be written with very little guidance from insurance companies.

If you are in private practice and you accept insurance then you NEED to know how to write notes. Insurance companies can audit your charts at anytime and if your documentation doesn't meet their guidelines then you'll be giving back your hard earned money.. and A LOT of it!!

This is an interactive course that includes  example of a biopsychosocial, progress note, treatment plan, and treatment plan update from a real client's chart using a SOAP template; examples of measurable vs. non measurable treatment plan objectives, audit tools, and more!

Role of Neurocognitive Testing When

Cognitive Disorders Are Chronic

January 30, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

21 Waterville Road

Avon, CT

The involvement of mental health professionals is essential for the institutionalized-geriatric population. The challenges that come with this developmental stage along with the multitude of mood and behavioral disorders that emerge suggests under-serving this group can lead to poor qualify of life in individuals and stretching the healthcare system to its' limits in communities.

This course is aimed at enhancing the skills set of those working with clients with neurocognitive disorders. Information is pulled from evidence-based strategies and information and builds on graduate level training education. The course will reference cultural nuances and considerations for working with under-served populations. This particular course will discuss how evaluating cognition can assist in treatment planning. It will also discuss that cognitive gains are still possible even in the face of neurocognitive deficits and will offer techniques and approaches to enhance functioning.
