Urgent: NASW needs your help NOW to make sure Congress prioritizes mental health in the end-of-year package
NASW sent an end-of-year letter to Congressional leaders, which includes these mental health asks. Thanks to advocacy from NASW and our coalition partners the Senate Finance Committee’s workforce draft includes two provisions of the Improving Access to Mental Health Act: allowing clinical social workers to bill independently in skilled nursing facilities and allowing clinical social workers to provide Health and Behavior Assessment and Intervention services.
But none of these programs will get enacted unless they are part of the end-of-year package. We need that package to include the legislation and provide sufficient resources to address the ongoing crisis. Please contact your members of Congress today!
