Why Sports? The Importance of Sports to Security and the Armed Forces
The NATO Associaiton of Canada is happy to announce its upcoming panel on the important role that sports play in security and the rules-based international order. 

This panel will host Lieutenant-Colonel (Ret'd) Edward Staiowski who will discuss how he has used sports to integrate and interact with local populations and other armed forces, and how they have been used as a tool of soft-power diplomacy and to help injured service members recuperate.

Lifetime Achievement for Multiculturalism - Citizenship Judge Albert Wong
We are thrilled to announce that one of our Champions, Citizenship Judge Albert Wong, has been selected by the Cambridge Food and Wine Society of Canada for its 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award for Multiculturalism. Notable recipients of this prestigious award include former PM Pierre Elliot Trudeau, and the Hon. Jean Augustine.


The award will be presented during a virtual ceremony on Thursday, October 15th at 1PM ET.

The Impact of the 2020 U.S. Election on NATO: A Moderated Discussion
On Tuesday, September 29, we were proud to hold a discussion on the possible impacts of the 2020 U.S. presidential election on NATO with Jim Townsend, former US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Europe and NATO under Barack Obama, Dr. Darrell Bricker, CEO of Ipsos Public Affairs, and Dr. Anessa Kimball, Director of of the Centre for International Security at Laval University, moderated by Vincent Boucher.

Connecting the Startup Ecosystem with NATO
On Wednesday, September 23, the NATO Association was proud to host a discussion on open innovation and procurement opportunities within NATO. The virtual panel featured two NATO agencies involved in open innovation including the Innovation Hub (iHub) and the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA). In addition, the webinar conveys the three Canadian startup contenders that participated in the latest NATO Innovation Challenge pitch day competition on June 16th, 2020.
