Why Sports? The Importance of Sports to Security and the Armed Forces
The NATO Association of Canada is excited to be holding an event on the important role that sports has in security and the rules-based international order. 

This panel will host Lieutenant-Colonel (Ret'd) Edward Staniowski, Lieutenant-General Frances Allen, Jay Feyko, National Manager for Soldier On, and Lieutenant-Colonel Sharlene Harding.

 Together they will discuss the impact of sports on security, soft-power diplomacy, and the health of Canada's military personnel.

NATO-Area Energy Security: The Southeast European Flank
The NATO Association of Canada is holding an event about the geopolitics of the energy transition on NATO's Southeast European flank and its implications for Europe. The event features Senior Research Fellow Dr. Robert Cutler and Research Fellow Mariana Liakopoulou from the NAOC Energy Security Program. They are joined by the Founder and Sr. Advisor of geopolitics and country risk at Verocy B.V, Dr. Cyril Widdershoven, and Dr. Aura Sabadus, Senior Reporter for the Independent Commodity Intelligence Services, London.

NAOC Research Analyst, Anvesh Jain to Represent Canada at the #NATO 2030 Youth Summit
Former NAOC Program Editor and Current Research Analyst Anvesh Jain is one of four alliance-wide winners for the #NATO2030 Video Contest. The event takes place on Monday, November 9th, where his name and entry will be broadcasted worldwide by NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg at 17:15CET (11:15am Toronto).

Program Editor, Ravdeep Singh Sandal to Represent the NAOC at the #WeAreNATO Conference
Program Editor Ravdeep Singh Sandal has been selected as one of the two youth delegates to represent Canada at the annual #WeAreNATO conference on November 18th and 19th. At the conference, Ravdeep will have the opportunity to network with likeminded individuals from other NATO member countries, obtain training, and join panels with senior NATO representatives.

Welcoming Hon. David Collenette
On October 23rd, The NATO Association of Canada (NAOC) welcomed the Hon. David Collenette, PC, LLD, as our new Chair.
He succeeds the past Chair, Kathryn E Langley Hope.

Mr. Collenette has served in Cabinet under three Canadian Prime Ministers, Pierre Trudeau, John Turner and Jean Chretien, and held several portfolios including Minister of Defence (1993-1996), Minister of Veteran’s Affairs (1993-1996) and Minister of Transport (1997-2003) among others.

Impacts of Climate Change on Human Security: What Can be Done
On October 21st, the NATO Association of Canada partnered with Climate Solutions Advancement Network of Think Renewable Group to hold an event that discussed the growing impact of climate change on human security, the need to mitigate these impacts and highlight some strategies and technologies that can facilitate action in the future.
