Protocol for Students Going Home Sick

We are required by the Iowa Department of Public Health to track illness and number of students out ill as part of the state’s 10% absenteeism policy. We also track illnesses locally to Linn County Public Health so it is protocol for students to see the nurse before they leave school ill. This not only helps track state and county illnesses, but what is going around Xavier so that when a parent calls in and asks what is going around school we can give accurate information so parents can determine if they should take their child to the doctor or not.

Parents can call their students out ill during the day and students will be expected to come down on their own to go home, but know they will still be required to see the nurse before they leave so that we can more accurately track illnesses.

If there are questions, please contact Kris Naeve, Xavier School Nurse.

2024-25 Registration is Now Open!

PowerSchool Registration is now available for all Xavier Catholic Schools families. You are welcome and encouraged to start this process at this time; however, date of family registration with Xavier Catholic Schools will determine enrollment priority if the student is at the same priority level as other prospective students in the event of high demand for placement in a specific grade level.  Additionally, time of received registration materials will be used in situations where capacity limits enrollment; this process is used when priority levels are not in effect.

In order for enrollment to be considered complete, all Power School Enrollment Express forms must be submitted and/or accepted (yellow and green leaves will indicate these statuses). Deadline to complete the registration process is March 29, 2024 for priority enrollment. After March 29, 2024 all registration materials are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
