News & Updates...

Second Semester Schedules

Students should refer to PowerSchool (or the PS app) for their finalized second semester schedule, which will start tomorrow, January 4th.

Note:  If you have trouble seeing your schedule in PowerSchool, please make sure you log out and log back in as updates have recently been made to the app.

Schedule Change Requests:

For those wishing to request course changes in the first few days of the semester, please pay attention to the new process for this semester.

As in the past, you may request changes for academically motivated reasons which require signatures from your teachers, parents, and administration before the change can be made by the school counselors. However, the only reasons for changes at this point are as follows:

  • Failed a 1st semester course
  • Do not have 8 classes in my schedule
  • 1st and 2nd semester course levels don’t match
  • Missing a prerequisite course

Change requests must be turned in by Tuesday, January 9th at 3:30pm. Changes will be finalized in student schedules by Wednesday, January 10th after which time additional changes cannot be requested.

We appreciate your consideration for these change request procedures and look forward to a successful second semester, 2024!

Hy-Vee Receipt Reminder

Please remember to keep bringing in your Hy-Vee receipts for their Cash 4 Students program.

  • You can drop them off at the Xavier front desk during school hours or in the business office drop box outside the main office after hours.
  • Receipts need to be dated from April 1, 2023 - March 31, 2024.
  • The deadline to turn these in is March 31, 2024.

Thank you for your help with this great fundraiser for our school!

Business Office Updates...

ESA Program Reminder - Important Due Date!

To maintain ESA eligibility for the rest of the 2023-24 school year, ESA participants must approve payment of tuition and fees within the Odyssey portal no later than February 1, 2024. The process to approve tuition and fees for the second half of the year is similar to the process for the first half of the year.

  • Parent/Guardian action: log into Odyssey and approve or deny tuition and fees for the second half of the school year.

Questions can be directed to the Odyssey Support Team at help.ia@withodyssey.com or 515-368-9564.

Tuition Statements

To make the process more efficient for families, we are asking parents to print off tuition statements from the My BackPack website (step by step process below) to use for the Tuition Tax Credit on your Iowa tax return. The credit is maxed out at $2,000 of allowed school expense per student (tuition, textbooks) for the 2023 calendar year and the maximum credit is $500 or 25% of max expense per student. Please note that tuition payments made with an ESA are NOT eligible for the tax credit.

Please provide this documentation to the person who prepares your tax return to take advantage of the tuition tax credit.

Click Here to Access Senior Systems/My Backpack to Retrieve & Print Your Year-End tuition statement.

  • Enter ID and Password (You can retrieve password and username on the website, just below sign in, by entering your email address.)
  • Tuition and Fees Summary
  • View Account Details
  • Search All Transactions
  • Enter Date: 01/01/23-12/31/23
  • At the bottom of the screen is a printable version -- Select to print / "Ctrl P" to print.

Please use this link to view eligible expenses.

Campus Ministry...

Kairos

Congratulations to our senior leaders for the upcoming K50: Ava Blue, Olivia Cobb, Jackson Dybvig, Brady Kruse, Maria LeGrand, Sheila Sundell, and Maggie Tucker! If you are a junior parent, please consider encouraging your student to sign up for Kairos as soon as possible. It is a unique experience that you won’t want them to miss!

  • The retreat will be held at Ridgehaven Cono Camp in Walker, IA
  • It begins after school on Thursday and concludes Sunday afternoon
  • The dates are February 8-11 and April 4-7. February has spots available, April has a waitlist
  • The cost $175. Registration is taken through 8to18
  • If you need aid assistance, contact Angie Calhoun
  • If you are a family that received an ESA and your student has remaining funds available, you should be able to use those toward this fee by logging into your Odyssey account and searching the Marketplace.
