Early bird discount for Xavier Catholic Schools Fall Fest has been extended to Midnight on Monday, November 4th!

All Xavier Catholic School families are invited to join us on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the DoubleTree in downtown Cedar Rapids for XCS Fall Fest! This is a casual, fun-filled evening with casino games, food/dessert stations, signature drinks, silent/live auctions, and more! This event is raising funds to support technology upgrades and technology alignment in our PK-8 schools (All Saints, LaSalle Catholic, St. Joseph, St. Matthew, St. Pius X, Regis) and early learning centers.

Vocations Awareness Week

A vocational call is the universal call to holiness. This holiness is expressed in how we live our lives. The call can be to married life, single life, Priesthood, diaconate and consecrated religious life. National Vocation Awareness Week, celebrated November 3-9, 2024, is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States.

• Vocation Prayer: God our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s Kingdom as priests, deacons, and consecrated persons. Send your Holy Spirit to help others to respond generously and courageously to your call. May our community of faith support vocations of sacrificial love in our youth and young adults. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Reconciliation Service

The sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered on Thursday, November 7, from 12:05-2:00 pm for juniors and sophomores. We will follow a regular bell schedule. Juniors will be dismissed shortly after the start of third block.

Register for Winter Activities/Sports on Bound

Any student planning on participating in an activity/sport this winter must  be registered on Bound. Please register your student now for all activities they plan to participate in this year so that we can provide communication prior to the season.

To Register:

• Visit the Bound Website
• Sign In and click on “Registration”. (Make sure you are selecting the 2024-25 school year.)
• If your student is interested in participating in multiple activities, please register them for each activity.
• If your student is considering participating in athletics or cheer, parents must also upload a Physical, and electronically sign a Concussion and Permission/Release Form via Bound.
• All physicals will now be uploaded through this process – paper forms will not be accepted in the XHS Activities Office. You will not need to print a form elsewhere.

State Volleyball

State Volleyball starts on Monday, November 4th and continues on Wednesday and Thursday. Monday’s quarterfinal is at 4:00 PM, Wednesday’s  semifinal will be at 12:00 PM and the championship is on Thursday at 12:15 PM.

Fall Musical Tickets

Join us at the fair! Tickets for the fall musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s State Fair will go on sale on Tuesday, October 15th at 8:00 AM. Reserve your seat and join the Frake family as they embark on a journey to the Iowa State Fair in hopes to bring home some blue ribbons and find romance. This lesser known classic will have you laughing, crying, and dancing in the seats. Come join us at the 1946 Iowa State Fair!

Tickets are $12 each and include all service fees. Tickets must be purchased online before the show. No tickets will be sold at the door and no activity passes are accepted.

Speech Auditions

Speech Auditions will be held on Monday, November 4th and Thursday, November 7th from 4:30-6:00 PM in Room # 229.

Boys Wrestling Informational Parent Meeting

There will be a Boys Wrestling Informational Parent Meeting on Monday, November 4th at 6:00pm in Room #240 for all students (and their parents) who plan on going out for wrestling this winter at Xavier.

Girls Basketball Informational Parent Meeting

There will be a girls basketball informational meeting on Tuesday, November 5th, in the Xavier Library at 6:00pm for all girls and their parents who plan on playing basketball this winter.

Boys Swimming Meeting

There will be a meeting for all boys and their parents who are interested in swimming this winter with CR Kennedy in our co-op program on Tuesday, November 5th at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held at the Kennedy Pool. 

Note: To register for swimming at Kennedy on Bound you will need to select Kennedy as your school once you are in your students profile.
