XCS Families: You Are Invited to Join Us for Fall Fest 2024!

The Xavier Catholic Schools Fall Fest is a casual, fun-filled evening with casino games, food/dessert stations, signature drinks, silent/live auctions, and more! We invite all our XCS families to join us on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the DoubleTree in downtown Cedar Rapids starting at 6:00 PM. This event is raising funds to support technology upgrades and technology alignment in our PK-8 schools (All Saints, LaSalle Catholic, St. Joseph, St. Matthew, St. Pius X, Regis) and early learning centers.

Parent Donations Needed to Support Teachers During Conferences

On Monday & Wednesday October 28th & 30th, Xavier will be holding Fall Conferences. During these days, XPX provides meals for the teachers as these are very long work days at Xavier. We are also collecting extra snacks and treats for teachers and staff for Thankful Thursdays, where we will set out treats in the teachers' lounge as an extra treat for all they do.

Please see the following link to help donate food and drinks for these meals. All donations can be dropped off outside the main office on the carts provided. Community System Diaper Drive for YPN

In celebration of Respect Life Month the Community System is collecting diapers to support YPN and the Eastern Iowa Diaper Bank. Students are encouraged to bring in diapers, wipes and infant toys through October 25th. All donations should be brought to the student's "House".

Fall Musical Tickets

Join us at the fair! Tickets for the fall musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s State Fair will go on sale on Tuesday, October 15th at 8:00 AM. Reserve your seat and join the Frake family as they embark on a journey to the Iowa State Fair in hopes to bring home some blue ribbons and find romance. This lesser known classic will have you laughing, crying, and dancing in the seats. Come join us at the 1946 Iowa State Fair!

Tickets are $12 each and include all service fees. Tickets must be purchased online before the show. No tickets will be sold at the door and no activity passes are accepted.

Awaken Iowa

On Saturday, October 19, 2024, Awaken Iowa will welcome over 1,000 youth, young adults, and families to focus on a joy-filled personal encounter with Jesus Christ. In partnership with Damascus, this event is led by Catholic laity across the state of Iowa, who are boldly and bravely seeking a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit across the state and beyond.

• The event will be held at Veterans Memorial Building in Cedar Rapids. Free admission! Reserve your seats today here.

Fall Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent teacher conferences are scheduled for:

• Monday, October 28th (3:30-8:30 PM)
• Wednesday, October 30th (3:30-8:30 PM)

Xavier Catholic Schools Impact Fund Launches this Weekend!

The Xavier Catholic Schools Impact Fund Parish Appeal launches in all metro parishes this weekend. The theme this year for the XCS Impact Fund is “Building Faith” and all funds raised will be used to promote faith and building improvements in our eight schools (from early learning centers to elementary, middle, and high school.)  

Each of our schools and early learning centers have identified the faith and building needs in their buildings. Some of the faith needs are offering dedicated sacred spaces in our schools (for example: faith rooms or prayer corners) along with the addition of spiritual artwork and statues. Some identified building needs include security upgrades and general building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, flooring, lighting) in our schools.

To build excitement, we’ll be hosting "Impact Days" at each school over the next two weeks. Xavier’s Impact Day will be on Friday, October 18!

The day will start with a sweet treat from the Foundation for our teachers and staff. For those families that drop off their students, we will greet you with a prayer card and treats to hand out to you in the drop-off lane. Students will participate in a special “Impact Day” prayer and take part in a fun “Building Faith” challenge, with prizes awarded to the winning students and classrooms.

We invite you to join our efforts in supporting the faith and building needs at our schools. Return the commitment cards mailed to you last week or donate online at crxcs.org/give. We look forward to seeing you at Xavier on Friday!

"Give Back Night" to Benefit Xavier Football

Goldfinch Tap and Eatery is hosting a “Give Back Night” to benefit Xavier Football on Wednesday, October 16, from 4pm-9pm. Goldfinch, located at 740 10th Street, Marion, will give back 25% of the profits to the football program from that evening. Go Saints!
