By Michele Katz,
NAWBO President
Back in the day, NAWBO Chicago had tons of in-person programming. Like the mile markers in a marathon, there was always one more event right up ahead. At the same time, sea changes in our business climate were underway. In the aftermath of the most recent recession, many of us were producing more work with less people. And, as technology's promise of greater efficiency led to a rise in GoToMeetings and anytime access, thanks to cloud computing, lives got busier. The crowds at NAWBO events thinned.
When last year's president, Emily Smith, hit the ground running, she and the Board of Directors (me included) decided that we had to adjust to the new business climate. The fact was: People simply had less time.
