Message from the President
It’s hard to believe we are already into the 2nd month of 2021! Where did January go?! With all the national events of January distracting us, it was over in a blink!

With all the events of last year..pandemic, election..lack of human connection…routines upended…financial woes. I have seen a lot of business owners madly pivot in all directions, juggling the kids on zoom, figure out how to get things done while in a pandemic.
Physically, we have coped with this. Mentally..perhaps not as much. It’s hard to admit when we have physical or emotional ailments. Entrepreneurs ride a rollercoaster 24/7 365 to keep their doors open and clients happy without a pandemic. But do we look at how our physical and mental health affects our business? We plan to address that in March! Save the date on March 26th, 9 am-11 am for Mind, Body, and Money: A Holistic Approach to Entrepreneurship. In partnership with SCORE Los Angeles, three NAWBO sisters will present a panel discussion to teach us physical, mental, and money mindset strategies to see us through 2021. Watch your emails for event details!

I also encourage you to reach out for support and make connections to help you and your business within NAWBO. We have three Signature events now in the L.A. Chapter. Momentum Monthly, every 2nd Friday at Noon, is our monthly meeting to catch you up on all things NAWBO-LA, CA, and National, hear from special speakers, and a chance to group network as well as participate in our virtual one-on-ones. Every 1st Thursday 8:30-10:00 am is Rise and Shine Los Angeles. Grab your favorite morning drink, log on and make connections with local, regional and national members. We will have special themes, hosts and co-hosting with other NAWBO chapters. This is a great time to expand your reach and make those connections. Our Virtual Connects, every last Tuesday of the month at 5pm, features guest speakers on a variety of topics. We have so many great presenters to choose from! Lastly, our Member Orientation happens every month right before the Momentum Monthly at 11 am. ANY member can attend the orientation, whether you are brand new or been around awhile. This is the place to learn about how to navigate and connect in the chapter. Please mark these on your calendars. Non-Member guests are always welcome for up to two events before they are asked to join. Come get a taste of why NAWBO membership is a no brainer! Join us!

2021 will be about maintaining those connections, virtual for awhile still, and continuing to make new connections to grow your business and give you that personal and professional support NAWBO is always known for!

We look forward to “seeing” even more of you at our events, committee members, and beyond!!

Happy February NAWBONation!!!

Get your business ready to face the next global disruption!
Running a successful company requires that your business remain operational in any situation that could disrupt the normal flow of normal business, and in the wake of global threats like COVID-19, more corporate and government buyers are requiring business continuity plans as part of the proposal process.

Join us for an interactive workshop with speaker Melanie Rae, Founder + Author, Guided Business Plan, as she teaches attendees to:

  • Simplify business continuity planning by using the PDR (policies, defense, and response) technique

  • Identify key areas of exposure (Business Impact Analysis)
