Which Four Countries Pope Leo Is Visiting in Africa, and Why
By Motoko Rich | New York TImes
To understand why Pope Leo XIV is traveling to Africa less than a year into his papacy, consider that one in five of the world’s Catholics now live on the continent.
His 10-day trip begins Monday and includes visits to Algeria, Angola, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. Aside from Algeria, which is overwhelmingly Muslim, the other three countries are home to substantial numbers of Catholics.

What Is the Eucharist? | Catholic Answers Guide to the Sacraments
Find out why the Catholic Church calls the Eucharist the source and summit of the Christian life.
The Eucharist Is Not a Symbol: Beyond Symbolism
Jesus is substantially present—body, blood, soul, and divinity—in Holy Communion. People may misunderstand and believe that the Eucharist is only a symbol of the body and blood of Christ. It is much more than that.

From Kami Beliard to Sr. Rose Jesu
At the closing Eucharistic Liturgy of Congress XIII at the Gaylord Resort in National Harbor, Maryland, a group of young people came forward to receive a special blessing from Bishop Roy E. Campbell, Jr. and the concelebrating bishops, priests, deacons, and the assembly, as they began discerning God’s call in their lives. Among them was a young woman named Kami Beliard.
The journey of discernment unfolds slowly, guided by prayer, conversation, and trust in God’s timing. In time, Kami continued to pursue that path. Today she is known as Sr. Rose Jesu (YEH-soo), a first-year novice with the Sisters of Life. The novitiate is a sacred period of formation in which a young sister deepens her spiritual life, studies the charism of her community, and prepares for the possibility of professing religious vows.
For those who witnessed that moment at National Black Catholic Congress XIII, it is a beautiful reminder that seeds planted in faith can bear fruit in ways only God can foresee. The young woman who once stepped forward for a blessing now continues her journey of service to Christ and His people as Sr. Rose Jesu.
Please join us in praying for Sr. Rose Jesu as she continues her journey into religious life.
