UPDATED INFORMATION
There is just one month to go before the opening of BOOKS AS ART 4! If you plan to participate in the show, please review the following information.
SUBMISSION AND INTAKE
- Participating artists must be 2025 NBG members. If you are unsure of your membership status, please contact Yumi. All members are invited to participate.
- Intake for the show is Sunday, June 1, noon-2pm in the Bear Gallery.
- Every work submitted must be accompanied by an Intake Form; copies will be available at the studio and the Bear Gallery. Download the INTAKE FORM
- If you need to make special arrangements for mailing your work, please contact Margo
- All wall pieces must be ready to hang.
- If you have QR codes for your work, please send them to Margo.
- If you have questions about submitting or displaying work for the Hornbook Project, please contact Ashley.
- If you have questions about submitting or displaying work for the Fountainhead Automobile Museum Project, please contact Connie.
- General questions about installation can be directed to Margo.

WANT TO MAKE A QR CODE FOR YOUR BOOK(S)?
Open Studio on Sunday May 11, noon-3pm
Consultations with Oralee Nudson on QR Codes
At the April 27 program meeting, Oralee Nudson made a presentation about generating QR codes to accompany your submissions to BAA4. The recording of that presentation will be available to NBG members within a few days.
Consider making a QR code for one or more of your submissions. Possibilities include:
- a video of viewing the book, page by page
- a reading of the book's text with or without viewing the pages
- a series of photographs of the book's pages or structure
Oralee will be available for consultation at the Open Studio on Sunday, May 11, noon-3pm. She requests that you come with your content fully planned and videos/photos on a thumb drive.
While YouTube will accept several file formats, the one used most commonly is MP4. Follow this link to gain access to the Google Drive folder for uploading your content to the Northwoods Book Arts Guild YouTube channel. Any content uploaded here before May 24th will be turned into a YouTube video.

TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS @ 2
NBG DOCENTS CONDUCT TOURS OF BOOKS AS ART 4
NBG members who have work in BAA4 are invited to lead tours of the exhibition in our "TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS @ 2” program. If you have work in the show, you are invited to be a docent. Here's how it works:
- On each Tuesday and Thursday in June, 3 docents will be assigned to greet groups of gallery visitors and lead them on a tour of the show.
- Tours are open to the public; they will be advertised in advance.
- Tours will last no more than 1 hour, 2-3pm.
- Docents can split up a larger group, offer a discussion-oriented tour, or organize the group in some other creative way.
- Docents will wear lanyard-style name tags so they are easily identified.
- An "Information Sheet” will be provided to help guide the tours.
HOW DO I SIGN UP TO BE A TOUR GUIDE?
Participating BAA4 NBG members will soon receive an email linked to a Google Form.
If you are interested in participating, please complete and submit the form with your information by Friday, May 16:
- your availability on tour days
- how many times you would like to be a docent
We'll do our best to match you up with your preferred time slot(s). We will inform all docents of the full schedule before the show opens on June 6. If you have questions,
