April 2, 2021
Hi Folks,

Waking up to 25-degree weather felt like an April Fool's joke this morning, but at least the forecast for the weekend looks promising! I know many of our families are wrapping up the week-long celebration of Passover while others will be celebrating Easter this weekend. We wish all of our families joyous celebrations with their families.

April brings a host of new events and activities for our students. Rehearsals for the spring musical, Golly Gee Whiz, begin; the track and field season kicks off; we host a parent meeting for our incoming 6th graders; and State testing occurs at the end of the month. These things should keep us plenty busy the next few weeks!

Enjoy the long weekend...
Scott

Shout Outs
Thank you to Amy Melnick and Lauren Schuster for assisting with last month's RLA Materials Pickup!

Thank you to Kelley Peifer for dressing up our lounge on St. Patrick's Day and bringing in tasty treats for our hardworking staff.

Thanks to Jane Ciancanelli and Joanie Gilbert (and others) for coordinating this month's L.I.F.T. Day. (This is the NBJH version of Career Day.) We are excited for April 23rd!

8th Grade Art Show
Each year Mr. Hay coordinates with Georgie V's restaurant to display artwork from our 8th graders. Since an in-person showcase at the restaurant wasn't an option, Mr. Hay hung the display in our main lobby over spring break. If your 8th grader took an art class this year, then s/he likely has a beautiful piece on display for the NBJH community!

Class of 2021 Graduation Ceremony
It's official -- this year's graduation ceremony has been scheduled for Sunday, May 30th at 3pm at GBN's William Lutz Stadium. We are excited to start the planning process for this outdoor event and will be soliciting volunteers to help with the preparations. Our 8th grade families can expect additional communication in the near future.

Class of 2021 Graduation Pictures
The 8th grade graduation pictures have been scheduled for April 14-15. All 8th graders. will have two pictures taken -- one in dress clothes and one with a graduation gown provided by the school. Here is the picture schedule:

Help a Family in Need
Friends and family have organized a fundraiser in loving memory of LIA ROGERS on behalf of her beloved daughter NEVAEH ROGERS. Lia was a Westmoor School PTO volunteer and involved in the community in many ways. A GoFundMe page was established to help Lia's family alleviate lingering medical costs and provide assistance for Nevaeh's future (necessities, schooling, extra-curricular activities, counseling, etc...). All funds will go directly to an account set up for Nevaeh. Visit the Navaeh Rogers GoFundMe Page to learn more.
