2013 NBL CANADA ALL STARS NAMED
 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                                        April 2, 2013

 

(TORONTO, ON): The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to name the All Stars that will participate in the 2013 NBL Canada All Star Weekend, presented by LiUNA, on April 13-14 in Saint John, N.B.

 

The selection process involved nominations from the Head Coaches in the League as well as fan voting. Each team in the NBLC is represented by at least one All Star and there are six Canadians that have been named to participate in the event.

 

"This has been an incredible season for the League and its fans," said Susan Gordon, Deputy Commissioner of NBL Canada.  "And now our fans will have the opportunity to watch some of the best players in the League face off against each other in a variety of events in the League's second annual All Star Weekend!  It will be a weekend to remember!" 

 

Atlantic Conference All Stars:

The starters for the Atlantic Division All Star Team, as selected by the coaches, are:

 

Jerice Crouch 6'0 PG Saint John Mill Rats

Joey Haywood 6'1 G Halifax Rainmen (Canadian)

Brandon Robinson 6'6 G-F Summerside Storm

Isaac Butts 6'11 C Moncton Miracles

Devin Sweetney 6'6 G-F Moncton Miracles

 

*Kenny Jones of the Saint John Mill Rats was nominated but is unable to participate due to an overseas commitment.

*Antonio Ballard of the Summerside Storm was nominated but is currently on the injured reserve list.

The reserves for the Atlantic Division All Star Team, as selected by the fans, are:

*Chris Cayole was the highest fan vote-getter on the Atlantic Team with 18,733 votes.

 

The Head Coach for the Atlantic Division All Star Team is Joe Salerno Jr. from the Summerside Storm.

 

Central Division Conference All Stars: 

The starters for the Central Division All Star Team, as selected by the coaches, are:

*J.R. Harrison was the highest fan vote-getter on the Central Team with 1,612 votes.

 

 

The Head Coach for the Atlantic Division All Star Team is Michael Ray Richardson from the London Lightning.
