Earn a 2025 tax credit by donating to

Emmaus Road before filing

Did you know you can provide scholarship dollars to Newark Catholic students at no net cost to you? All it takes is a donation to the school that you will get back as a credit on your 2025 Ohio state taxes.

If you give just before you file, you’ll likely see your debit and credit within

weeks of each other, possibly even in the same month. In other words, you’ll

get back what you gave in a short period of time.

Green Wave on Ice!

While we were cheering on team U.S.A. in the Milan-Cortina winter Olympic games, a few of our very own Green Wave have been hard at work on the ice as well. Check out our Green Wave on ice!

Figure Skaters

Ady Martin (class of '28)

Ady started skating at the age of 5 and enjoys traveling to Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee for competitions. In addition to her individual skating, Ady is a member of the Arctic Snowflakes synchronized skating team here locally.

Nora Winters (class of '29)

Nora started skating at the age of 4. This season, she hopes to qualify for U.S. Figure Skating's Excel National Festival in Boston, MA in July. Wish her luck as she skates her first qualifying event in Columbus, IN in a few weeks!

Ice Hockey Players

Colin Jones (class of '26)

Colin began playing hockey at the age of 6. He has played for the Newark Generals for 12 years, where he started as a defender, then moved to left wing. He has grown in strength, discipline and determination through the sport and is a truly proud hockey player!

Alex Przeracki (class of '28)

Alex has been playing hockey for the past three years. He plays for the Newark Generals JV team as a forward. He led his 14U travel team in goals and has even had a few hat tricks (3 goals in a game).

Luge and more hockey

Maggie Richardson (class of '25)

Maggie hopes to compete in the Olympics for Team USA Luge someday! Earlier this month, she traveled to Lillehammer, Norway with her U.S. Junior Luge team for the Junior World Cup races and helped earn a bronze medal in the team event. Go Maggie!

Duncan Humphries (class of '21)

and current NC faculty member

Duncan has been playing hockey longer than he can remember. He has traveled extensively with the Newark Generals and Denison Big Red. He's won two state championships and made two subsequent appearances at nationals with the Generals. Duncan remains on the ice through coaching and playing in the local men’s league.

Another Green Wave on ice includes Newark Catholic's Communications Manager, Emily Winters, who has coached skating for many years. You'll likely find her paired up with Duncan Tuesday evenings where they both teach Learn to Skate classes at the Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena.
