2018 STEM Day at the Capitol

STEM Day at the Capitol was held on February 14.  This annual event showcases the great things happening in Iowa regarding science, technology engineering and mathematics.

During the day, the 2018 I.O.W.A. STEM Teacher Award recipients were recognized. Libby Nelson, Vice President and general counsel at Kevin Industries, express how proud Kevin Industries is to have sponsored the I.O.W.A. STEM Teacher award for the past four years, honoring 24 incredible teachers in the award's lifetime.

The day was also an opportunity to thank legislators for their  STEM programming  support  and highlight the impact STEM initiatives are having on students and young people - who are ultimately our leaders and workforce of tomorrow.    The Iowa State University regional booth showcased STEM programs at Iowa State University including Animal U, Crop Sciences and the FLEx Program.    Thanks to Amy Powell, Maya Hayslett and Patricia Gibler for all their help at the Iowa State University booth
