Bobby Taylor

He's been a player, a coach, and a driving force behind tennis clubs like Greene Ridge Racquet Club. Bobby's passion for tennis has touched countless lives, making him a deserving inductee.


Virginia Dumas Skillman

  • Virginia's tennis journey spans decades, marked by her exceptional prowess as a player and her dedication to teaching and advocacy. She's a trailblazer and grassroots advocate who has left an indelible mark on the tennis community.


Bonnie Vandegrift

  • Bonnie's impact on North Carolina tennis is immeasurable. She spearheaded local leagues, served as president of NC Tennis and the NC Tennis Foundation, and chaired various committees at the USTA and USTA Southern. Her expertise in league tennis earned her the USTA League Award in 2023.


Calvin Davis

  • With over 30 years of coaching, 35+ high school state championships, and a knack for nurturing talent, Coach Calvin Davis has transformed the lives of countless young athletes. His commitment to the sport and community shines through his work as founder of the Davis Foundation.



These remarkable individuals will be joining the ranks of the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club. The North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame now includes 115 members, with the January 2023 induction of Rebel Good, Jeff Joyce, Sam Paul, and Cliff Skakle. The inaugural class was inducted in 1975. The North Carolina Tennis Foundation selects two to four members annually to become Hall of Fame members during Tennis Weekend each January. About the North Carolina Tennis Foundation

The North Carolina Tennis Foundation was organized in 1961 for the purpose of promoting tennis and serves tennis players in North Carolina with its sister organization, the North Carolina Tennis Association. The Foundation provides financial support to many worthwhile tennis programs across the state. These programs include the National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) Network, the NC State High School Championships, Adaptive Tennis, and numerous grants. The NCTF is also responsible for maintaining the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame.
