The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) will reduce the average premium rate for Ontario businesses in 2026 to $1.23 per $100 of insurable payroll, down from $1.25 in 2025. This change will save businesses about $60 million next year.
It’s the seventh reduction in the last decade, with overall premium rates cut by more than 50% since 2017, contributing to about $21.5 billion in cumulative savings for businesses. At the same time, WSIB says it has improved services, expanded coverage, and made it easier for businesses to manage their accounts online.
Government and WSIB leaders framed the reduction as support for businesses during economic uncertainty, helping them reinvest in safety, remain competitive, and strengthen Ontario’s economy.
Businesses can access their 2026 premium rate statements online starting in November. Read the full update here.

“I enjoyed this training session very much.
I have gained the knowledge I require to assist me when I begin my COR four-element audit for my NCSO renewal. This presentation showed me the detail involved in completing this audit. Scott showed us the layout of the AUDITSOFT tool that all documentation is to be uploaded to. His training style is very informative and in a casual setting. Scott shared lots of information from his years of experience, I highly recommend attending his training sessions!”
“The workshop Facilitator, Mr. Halling is a huge asset to any company either already COR certified, in the process of or considering obtaining certification. His knowledge of the COR program was above and beyond my expectations. I am definitely looking forward to the remaining workshop training opportunities.”
