November 7, 2025

Greetings NCA Families,

This week was marked by a few firsts for our school, and first for our Middle School in particular. Last Saturday, the PTC led the first-ever Middle School dance for our scholars, and it was well received by scholars and staff. This week, we also learned that three of our 8th grade scholars were selected to the All-State Choir. To have all three scholars selected to the most prestigious ensemble choir is remarkable. The three scholars will be performing at the state ensemble concert in January. Congratulations to PTC for organizing a memorable experience for our scholars with the dance. And, special thanks to Ms. Batista for preparing our middle school scholars to achieve all-state choir recognition.

Today’s PTC event, Doughnuts with Dad, was special. It was great to see the cafeteria filled with scholars and their fathers starting the day together for breakfast.

The next two weeks prior to Thanksgiving break are loaded with activities for parents to join us on campus. Please see these special events, noted below:

Veteran’s Day Presentation – Tuesday, November 11th (1:45 – 2:45)

We are excited to celebrate the dedication and personal sacrifice of our community members that served proudly in our United States Armed Forces. Mrs. Roth is organizing this program, and she has collected information from all families that submitted short bios for this event.

Special Note #1: Family members that are being recognized during the presentation, please plan to arrive to the NCA cafeteria by 1:40 PM, to take your place in the reserved seating area.

Special Note #2: Due to the timeframe in which this event takes place, and the volume of scholars and parents attending, all scholars will be sent back to their classrooms following the presentation. We cannot release scholars to parents prior to the 3:00 PM standard dismissal time.

We are asking our families to help with this effort by referring mission-aligned organizations to our school. To do this, you simply need to email Mr. Wester & Mr. Millward – if you have a contact that you believe would be a great community partner for our school.

Why Classical Education is So Important

At NCA, our Pillars of Virtue are woven into every class in every grade level. After a short time, our scholars understand what these virtues mean, and how to practice them in and outside of the building. They are learning not only to be intelligent and well-educated scholars, but also good and thoughtful citizens.

As our scholars progress, they begin learning to have informed and intelligent discussions, and that debating or disagreeing with a classmate can still be done respectfully.

"If we want a citizenry capable of sustaining liberty, we cannot settle for activist training without understanding, nor abstract lectures without practice. We must teach our students to be virtuous, both individually and politically. Only then will they be capable of self-government—not as activists or spectators, but as citizens."

Congrats to our Choir Scholars!

It is with great pleasure that we announce the following students have been accepted to be a part of the 2026 All State Choir!

1. S.B. - 8th grade

2. Peter Moskvich Jr. - 8th grade

3. L.C. - 8th grade

They will be going to Tampa in January to perform with the top singers in Florida for 2025/2026, and are placed in the highest middle school level ensemble. This is the first time in NCA history that we have participated in FMEA events and have All State scholars.

We are so proud of your efforts, and wish you all the best of luck in Tampa!

NCA Bookstore

Did you know that our book fair is year round? Please continue to use this link for purchasing books for family and friends to benefit the children and help us grow the classroom libraries (and eventually a school library!) Proceeds from the purchases will go back to our school when you set up your account and link it to Naples Classical.

Take a sneak peek at some of the inspired reading for All Saint's Day on November 1st.

How does the book fair benefit our school? Watch here.

Don't forget to follow the steps to sign up your child for a book fair account. Follow these steps here.

Our next in-school book fair is scheduled for December 2-9, 2025. Scholars and parents can see a large sampling of the books that are offered. There will be more details about this event to come as we get closer.

We are in need of some amazing parent volunteers; if you want to help out with this event, and haven't become a CCPS approved volunteer yet, you can get started here today: https://naplesclassical.org/become-a-volunteer/

It is with great excitement that we anticipate our upcoming Christmas concert, and being able to share with you the beautiful things your children have been learning in their music classes.

Nota bene: For upper school scholars, attendance at the concert is expected, and their mid-term grade will be partially based on their participation in the concert. If your child is unable to make it, please contact your child’s teacher, as an alternate assignment will be provided. For lower school, grades will not be affected, but attendance is strongly encouraged.

November's Pillar of Virtue

SELF-GOVERNMENT

I will use self-control in my actions and interactions with others.

Signing of the Constitution of the United States

by Howard Chandler Christy

“It has been frequently remarked that it seems to have been reserved to the people of this country, by their conduct and example, to decide the important question, whether societies of men are really capable or not of establishing good government from reflection and choice, or whether they are forever destined to depend for their political constitutions on accident and force.” - The Federalist
