October 10, 2025

Greetings NCA Families,

We trust that you and your family had a great week, and that you have enjoyed the start of October!

This week at NCA, we saw many on-campus visitors enjoying the poetry skills and the competitive spirits of our scholars. With four Poetry & Prose events, we had families from kindergarten to eighth grade witness our scholars’ mastery of poetry. The 4th and 5th grade Greek Day happening today provides Olympic-style games and competitions for our families to watch our scholars showcase their fire to compete.

On Thursday night, NCA hosted a special event, with two college admissions representatives on-campus (from FGCU & Ave Maria University), to review “mock college applications” with attendees. Our families in grades 8-12 were invited to attend and gain a deeper understanding of which applicants get into these universities, and why they are accepted.

Here are a few important upcoming dates and details:

  • Friday (today), 10/10: Early-Release (Noon Dismissal) for All Scholars.
  • No lunch served from the cafeteria.
  • BASE operates from 12:00 – 6:00 PM; please pack a lunch, snacks and a water bottle for your scholar/s if they plan to attend BASE.
  • Today is the last day to register for parent-teacher conferences.
  • You must register by noon today to attend parent-teacher conferences.
  • Walk-in/drop-in conferences will not be permitted, due to packed schedules.
  • Monday & Tuesday, 10/13-10/14: No School/No childcare, Parent-Teacher Conference Day #1
  • Conferences run from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Please arrive to conferences, on-time (or a bit early), to ensure that you arrive at your scholar’s classroom on-time.
  • Conferences are tightly-scheduled, each conference must conclude within the designated timeframe to keep all staff/parents on-schedule.
  • Wednesday-Friday, 10/15-10/17: No School/School Offices Closed – Fall Break
  • The main office will be closed over these three days, and any emails sent to staff will not be returned until staff return on 10/20/25.
  • Monday, 10/20 – Classes resume at NCA
  • Tuesday, 10/21 – NCA Board Meeting, 6:00 PM, NCA Cafeteria

The Virtue for this Month is Perseverance, and as we conclude the first marking period and transition to the second marking period, our scholars will need to demonstrate their stamina for learning. We view the educational process as a partnership between parent, scholar and teacher, with our teacher being the expert within the classroom.

Help Grow Our School Community

We still have spaces in select grade levels, and we want your help to grow our school family. Do you have a family members or friends whose children would benefit from a classical education in the liberal arts? If so, please refer them to Mrs. Abney.

Mrs. Abney can provide additional information to prospective families, set up tours and help arrange shadow visit days. Please have any interested parent reach out to Mrs. Abney for more information about the NCA community and becoming a Patriot! She can be reached at mabney@naplesclassical.org.

At the end of October, we are going to reward two parents/families with a “Thank You” gift card drawing – to show our appreciation. While we know that our families do not need any added motivation to promote our school, these gift cards will be a small token of our appreciation. To be considered for this drawing, just have the visiting/enrolling family note that you specifically referred them to NCA when they apply or register (on/after 10/01/25).

I hope that your family has productive parent-teacher conferences, and that the 5-day weekend will provide relaxation and reinvigoration.

Thank you for being a part of, and supporting, our NCA community!

We thank our veterans for their sacrifices, courage, strength and dedication to keeping us safe. The scholars at NCA are excited to celebrate their service to this great country.  We would like to invite all veteran parents and grandparents who have served in The United States Armed Forces in wartime or peacetime to our campus on November 11th for a Veterans Day presentation.

If your child has a parent or grandparent who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces who would like to participate, please let them know that we will be sending out more information soon. We would be blessed to have all veterans stand and introduce themselves to our scholars. Thank you for your service.

NCA Bookstore

Did you know that our book fair is year round? Please continue to use this link for purchasing books for family and friends to benefit the children and help us grow the classroom libraries (and eventually a school library!) Proceeds from the purchases will go back to our school when you set up your account and link it to Naples Classical.

Our next in-school book fair is scheduled for December 2-9, 2025. Scholars and parents can see a large sampling of the books that are offered. There will be more details about this event to come as we get closer.

We will be in need of some amazing parent volunteers; if you want to help out with this event, and haven't become a CCPS approved volunteer yet, you can get started here today: https://naplesclassical.org/become-a-volunteer/

Sign-ups for volunteer opportunities for the book fair will be shared at a later date.
