President's Message:

Dear Members

We have some news to share as we look toward a bright new chapter at COAL. I’ll be wrapping up my role as President on August 1, 2026, and I’m feeling incredibly grateful for everything we’ve created together.

Your energy, curiosity, and love of the visual arts have made this community gallery such a joyful place. Because of you, our gallery has been full of color, conversation, and creativity—and that spirit will continue to shine as the Board begins the search for our next leader as soon as possible.

Our exhibitions, programs, and events will need to keep moving forward with the same vibrancy you’ve helped nurture. I’m excited for all the art, inspiration, and connection still ahead this season. So, let's sell art, to keep the doors to our gallery open for all to enjoy for a very long time.

With appreciation and a big smile,

Cheryl Ehlers

Hosting Dates

We understand that many of you are having to choose hosting dates well in advance of the shows and expressing issues with that. We cannot control the days in a month, and we have to work with what we can, so not everyone is going to be pleased, but at the very least you can actually choose your suitable Hosting dates well in advance. So take advantage of the opportunity to schedule ahead. We are maintaining our Gallery in top performance and appreciate each host and we need you. And out of respect for our Calendar Chair, please respond to her emails, she does her best to get you the dates you request. This is how we maintain the standard of the hosts at the gallery and the Calendar. The Gallery goes back to weekend hours 9-8pm on April 1 so we will be ok with the overage.

Thank you.

The Gallery is no longer open to artists after hours without the express permission from Gertrude. Please notify her of your request. We need to monitor our security. Thank you.

Attention all Hosts; You all will be contacted via email regarding procedures, issues and instructions for hosting the gallery, monthly. Please make certain you read, print and keep the email for future reference Thank you.

We need paid substitute gallery hosts. Substitute hosts are paid $35 by the member requesting assistance. Contact Gertrude.

Coming In 2026 – We are starting an Art Mentorship Program whereby our existing Members can mentor other artists, and Members, on their quest into a fulfilling art experience. This is a one-on-one experience, individualized to each artist needs. We believe in the value of sharing your expertise within the arts community, and when you take the time to give back to others, you are fostering a sense of purpose, while also strengthening social connections, and improving self-esteem.

The program is in the development stages, and we look forward to hearing form those that are interested to move forward. Contact: Vice President, Susan Bell at susanllctr@aol.com
