A Life Rooted in Faith
This month we are honored to feature a truly remarkable woman in our NCAG network, Rev. Pamela Coopwood. Pamela is an author, ordained minister, speaker, chaplain, and certified life coach whose life reflects a deep love for God and people.
Early Years & God’s Calling
Born in Gary, Indiana, Pamela was raised in a strong Christian home with her three sisters and three brothers. She gave her heart to the Lord at age ten, and God transformed a shy young girl into a passionate follower of Christ. By age thirteen, she was already teaching the Book of Hebrews to an adult Sunday School class.
Education & Professional Journey
Pamela attended Purdue University before continuing her studies at Spelman College, where she supported herself while majoring in biology, chemistry, and pre-med. A new opportunity led her into a 32-year career as an air traffic controller, serving in multiple states. Her commitment to lifelong learning also earned her a Master’s degree in Destination Tourism Management from George Washington University and a Master’s degree in Divinity from Virginia University.
Ministry & Service
Credentialed with the Assemblies of God in the Potomac District, Pamela has served faithfully in many roles, including helping plan President Ronald Reagan’s funeral and ministering as a chaplain during the COVID pandemic. She later moved to Charlotte, NC, to care for her mother and continued her ministry as a chaplain, Bible teacher, and preacher. Northlake Assembly of God is her home church.
Global Impact & Heart for Others
Pamela’s ministry has taken her to 27 countries, where she has hosted and spoken at women’s conferences. Her heart is especially drawn to the widows of Kenya, and she carries a God-given vision to open a home to serve this often-forgotten people group.
Author & Inspiration
Pamela is the author of Hold My Hand, I Need to Cry. Her life is a beautiful testimony of faith, service, and compassion—a true inspiration and example of a heart fully devoted to God and His world.
