Reorganization of Board of Education; Matt Atlas Welcomed as Newly Elected Board member.

On January 2nd, the Board held their annual Reorganization meeting. At the meeting, Matt Atlas was welcomed as a newly elected board member and Mindy Opper (who was re-elected for a second term) took the Oath of Office. Robert Projansky was re-elected as board president, and Mary Mokris was elected as the Vice President.

A Message from West Essex Middle School for 6th Grade Parents

West Essex Middle School is pleased to announce an opportunity to improve their Master Schedule for the 2019-2020 School  Year. WEMS currently runs a "Straight 9" schedule that features nine 42-minute class periods. They have invested the last few years in attending Professional Development workshops on scheduling, visiting numerous Middle Schools to examine their Master Schedule, and performing test-runs of different scheduling models and feel that the new format will greatly improve the Middle School experience for our students. In order to lay out the full details of this schedule change, Vee Popat, the West Essex Middle School Principal, would like to invite you to one of two informational meetings that he will be hosting.  These meetings will allow our parents the opportunity to learn about the schedule, ask questions, and offer feedback that will be helpful during implementation.  Please RSVP to Mrs. Valerie D'Anton via email ( vdanton@westex.org ) for one of the following meetings:
  • Wednesday, January 9 - 9:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, January 9 - 7:00 p.m.
