January Board of Education Meeting Date Change: Meeting now being held on Wednesday, January 23rd at 7:30 pm

The Board of Education would like to highlight the change in date for the upcoming board meeting. The meeting previously scheduled for January 22nd will now be held on Wednesday, January 23rd at 7:30pm in the Grandview School cafeteria. We hope to see you there!
Gould School Families:

The Gould School Student Council has signed on to raise funds in the fight against blood cancer with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Student Series.  Starting January 14th, we will be having a Change War between the homerooms called Pennies for Patients.  Each day of our kickoff week fundraiser will have a theme. At the end of the week the classroom with the most change collected will be dubbed the winner!

The schedule is as follows:
Monday 1/14
Tuesday 1/15
Wednesday 1/16
Thursday 1/17
Friday 1/18
Pajama Pennies
Don't forget to put your pennies in the pockets of your favorite pajamas.
Neon Nickels

Wear your brightest neon and bring in nickels!
Dazzling Dimes

Donate dimes & wear something shiny or something that makes you unique.
Crazy Quarters

Wear a crazy hat and/or socks to school and cash in your quarters.
Team up for Leukemia

Wear your favorite team's jersey or colors and collect all coins and dollars!

In addition to our kickoff week, students will now be able to fundraise online through their homeroom's unique class page (this information was sent home with your child). Students have the opportunity to create their own fundraising. The homeroom that collects the most money will earn a party!
By collecting donations, LLS is able to fund more effective therapies.  LLS has invested more than $1 billion in research to advance therapies that save lives.  In the 1960's the survival rate for the most common form of childhood leukemia was 3%.  Today it's approximately 90% thanks to many research advances funded by programs like Student Series.
Thank you, and thanks to your child, for helping LLS create a world without blood cancers.

Classroom Happenings
  • Third graders from Mrs. Schachter's class met with Mrs. Agnellino's kindergartners  to assist their buddies in logging onto Raz Kids. The kindergartners read a story to their third-grade partners and then the third-graders chose a book to read. When the stories were completed, the students answered the questions together. The classes enjoyed their time together and are looking forward to meeting again in the future.

  • Thank you to everyone from Gould School who donated gifts to Operation Holiday. Below are children from  Mrs. Kappock and  Mrs. Arena's classes displaying the generous gifts.
