Board of Education Connections
Happy Holidays!

The North Caldwell Board of Education would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holidays! Remember that today, Friday, December 21st, is a one session day. Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 2nd.

The North Caldwell Board of Education thanks Jann Skelton for 6 years of service on the Board.

Through her years of hard work and dedication, Jann made many extraordinary contributions to the North Caldwell School System. As Chairperson of the Community Relations Committee, Jann led efforts and worked diligently to improve the Board of Education's communication and relationship with parents, the North Caldwell community and the press resulting in greater transparency and improvement in all areas of community relations.

As a member of the Finance Committee, Jann helped ensure that the district's financial practices were sound and provided for the long term stability of the District. Throughout her service on the Board, Jann proved herself to be a transformative force who consistently inspired and motivated the Board to not just look ahead to the next year or two, but to consistently engage in long term strategic planning.

The North Caldwell school system, the children of North Caldwell and the entire community has benefited significantly from Jann's outstanding leadership and contributions to the Board of Education.
She has been a tremendous asset to the Board. The entire community has benefitted from her leadership and contributions.

Thank you, Jann, for all of your service to the school and children of North Caldwell!

Grandview School Students and Staff Collected 132 Pairs of Pajamas

The students and staff of Grandview School participated in the 10th Annual Scholastic Reading Club Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive. This drive benefits Pajama Program, a nonprofit organization that provides new pajamas and books to children in need. It particularly benefits children living in group homes, shelters, foster care, and orphanages.  Together we collected 132 pairs of pajamas ranging in sizes from infant to adult.  We want to thank our Grandview community for the amazing generosity and support.  Have a wonderful and joyous holiday season!

Classroom Happenings
  • Mrs. Newman's second graders excitedly worked together to decorate and fill holiday care packages in support of our servicemen and women. Mrs. Apolito assisted the students in preparing thoughtful gift boxes to extend our appreciation to Mrs. DeRosa's son and his squadron who are enlisted as United States Marines. Mrs. DeRosa works as an aide at Grandview, and the class is looking forward to Corporal DeRosa's visit when he returns home for leave in January. 2N also wrote letters to Corporal DeRosa for Veteran's Day. Mrs. DeRosa shared photos with 2N which showed the students' letters being shared amongst the squadron at a holiday party held on base for the soldiers and their loved ones. This true representation of spreading holiday joy would not have been possible without the generous families of 2N.

  • The third grade team thanks the NCPE for their generous grant. We cannot wait to use these awesome thesauruses with our classes! Thank you!
